As you may have heard, Shar had heart valve replacement surgery on Thursday, February 16. The procedure is called a TAVR. When she was woken up in the recovery room, she was slurring her words and the right side of her face was dropping. They took her for a CT scan of her brain which showed that she had a stroke. They immediately took her to the OR for emergency surgery to try and remove the block, but by the time they did surgery the bloackage had calcified and the surgery was unsuccessful. At that point they weren't were sure that she would make it through surgery and they had no idea if she would recover. After two surgeries and lots of testing, she got to the ICU on Thursday night around 9:00 pm.
