Sunday, February 19

Sunday Shar seemed to be awake a little more than the day before.  She responded to requests a little better and was still able to move her arms and legs.  She listened to Lauren's boyfriend, Jaden, compete in his first collegiate baseball game for Holy Cross University.  She also smiled at one point and seemed to laugh at a video that Mindy showed her of two clowns falling off their stilts during a parade.  If you know her at all, you know that she laughs at everything - especially when people fall.  One of her favorite stories is the one where her two friends fell in the bushes at separate times.  She can barely get through telling the story without laughing hysterically.

Around 3:30pm, her heart went into sinus rhythm on its own without the help of the external pacemaker, which was a very positive development.  However, overnight she needed the pacemaker on and off.

One positive update was that the nurse asked her to move some body parts and she was able to bend both legs and lift both arms.  Mindy and Steph also played a trick on her and got her to put up her middle finger - as a Sunday School teacher for almost 50 years, it was undoubtedly the first time she every game anyone the finger :).
